A great fifth place at Keysoe for Bound for Freedom (Ben) and Alex today. Alex said that she's really pleased for Ben who is now showing the great talent that he always promised. Intermediate at Upton House next up. Like Lightening (Claude) had one run out cross country in his most difficult test to date by far. Alex described it as a learning curve for him and that his raw talent, courage and enthusiasm are such promising features. Photos to follow

Like Lightening (Claude) enjoying himself at Rackham yesterday. Alex is impressed with his maturity and courage and hopes that his good form will continue at Keysoe this Saturday
Jun 18, 20:32
Alex and Like Lightening (Claude) completed the BE100 at Rackham today on a dressage score of 28.5, 4 faults showjumping, clear cross country but with two time faults. This put them into an amazing seventh place on only Claude's second outing. Alex said: "Claude is just such a natural jumper and laid back too. I just love riding him. I'm looking forward to taking him and Ben to Keysoe next Saturday."

Some horses get keyed up after competing that they can't relax enough to eat. Like Lightning (Claude) takes it all in his stride, stopping for a nibble after his dressage at Rackham today

Superb second day for Alex at Borde Hill with Bound for Freedom (Ben) coming close to a place in the Novice. An angel in the dressage, only one fence down show jumping (on a day when clear rounds were at a premium) and clear cross country showing his normal enthusiasm and love for the job. A great day to follow up Like Lightening's (Claude's) debut on Sunday. Thanks to all the friends who came to support us.

Claude completed his first One Day Event today at Borde Hill. Clear showjumping and cross country and a more than respectable dressage. He just missed out on a place against much more experienced horses. Alex said: "I'm really thrilled about how well he went. He's got an old head on young shoulders and enjoyed every minute."

Very sadly today, Is It Ok (William to his friends at the yard) was injured whilst leading the Restricted race at Parham. Our excellent vet was on site and made sure that he didn't suffer. He was an amazingly kind and loving horse and we shall all miss his face appearing over the door of his stable. He died living his life to the full
